Three Weeks for Dreamwidth is coming up! If you don't know what that is, it's basically 3 weeks of making Dreamwidth-only content to create more activity and love for the site. If possible, it's encouraged to link to Dreamwidth posts/communities/etc. on other sites to make people more interested in the place :] But you don't have to do that, or really anything if you don't want to, obviously. It runs from April 25th to May 15th. You can see what other people plan on doing @3weeks4dreamwidth.

As for me, among other things, I plan on encouraging more activity in my communities. So if you like visual kei or Japanese rock music or really edgy aesthetics or your demon hand that thirsts for blood, you should join vkotd if you haven't already. I'm going to be holding a new challenge soon :3 And by the end of it you may be... rewarded. Or not. Depends.

Also I made joseimuke on impulse the other day, which is completely unasked for and blank, but if you like shoujo and josei animanga or otome games or a little BL or some yuri or those phone games where the cast is 99% bishounen/seinen or etc. feel free to join early and see what I'm cooking. Everything you see there right now is very provisional.

My comm doesn't allow anything but sharing songs, because I thought in the very rare event that the comm blows up and has dozens of active members, I don't want to have to moderate all that because vkei fans are crazy like that music is. I've been meaning to get into that one! I tried the first few chapters of the manga and it felt a bit rough, but I know it's mostly known for its anime, so I'm wondering if maybe I might enjoy that more. I gotta give it another try.

I haven't even read the manga yet, but the anime is beautiful -- directed by Dezaki, who you may recognize from Berubara. It only gets better, so I think if you can manage finishing the first season/original 70s anime then you'll have fun with the rest forever and ever and ever

That sounds like a good idea! Especially because everyone complains about the algorithm on social media...but those people are glued to their feeds, when non-commercial sites that promote more thought like Dreamwidth are here.

I am actually not in any communities, mostly because I am not super into fandoms, but maybe I should be! I will look around and join one or two.
Otherwise, I will probably just do personal journaling on here.

Off the top of my head, you might enjoy common_nature, and maybe if you're feeling brave you could help revive language_learning. Other communities you could participate in are thefridayfive, justcreate, maybe talkpolitics if you're crazy? Hopefully one day there will be more general communities! I feel like a public transportation one could work out if the person who makes it knows how to keep a community alive.
But just tending to your own space is great too ^_^

sniff, sailor moon.. ive had this phenomenon happen to me multiple times this month where whenever i think about something in the morning, it gets mentioned later in the day. its bizarre.

i was listening to a sailor moon album on youtube today. maybe this is a sign to rewatch it for the millionth time (and to join the community).

Give it a try! You don't have to do anything special, especially since many comms will be holding events that require audience participation. You can participate in one, or you can resolve to talk in the comms you're a part of more, or you can use your own general more and promote it offsite, or you could try to comment more in others' journals... Lots of possibilities! Just help make DW feel lively <3
