July Approaches

I got back from (the) Seattle (area) yesterday. Time flies!
What I've Done
List of things I remember doing in Washington. (Not in order.)
What I'm Doing
I'm back home now, so I really want to focus on this scanlation. I'm only here for a week before I'm leaving to stay with my mom in Louisiana for a while, but I think I'll be able to work on the scanlation there too since she has a full-time job and all. She can't spend nearly every waking moment with me. Even so... Just in case...
What I Will Do
I worry about affording rent and what to do with all the stuff I own right now (it definitely won't all fit in that apartment), but I'm moving up to Washington with my friend. I'm sold. How cool and walkable Seattle is is a big part of why. And she barely showed me it! Such a homebody. Well, I'm not a homebody by choice, so if I can take a bus/train to the big city, walk around there, and then take the bus/train back home, I'll do so. Not being able to drive has kept me hostage in this house long enough. I want to experience adult life too.
What I've Done
List of things I remember doing in Washington. (Not in order.)
- I beat 5 games while I was there. #gamemaxxing First Harukanaru Toki no Naka de, then Super Mario Bros. Wonder, then Grandia, then Resident Evil 4, then Metroid Fusion on the day before leaving.
- Metroid Fusion was fun, it was cool... it was short and easy, which I think is just how GBA games are. It was no Super Metroid though... this was my second ever Metroid, and I'm sure Super Metroid is one of the greatest games I've ever played, so I felt a little let-down this didn't make me feel as stunned as Super Metroid did. But I suppose that's what happens after you create your magnum opus... You can't exactly have more than one magnum opus, can you?

- I started Kiniro no Corda/La Corda d'Oro.
- I went to a cat cafe for the first time. Friend got lightly grazed by a cat and almost died until she was able to take allergy medication. Which I guess means no cat in the future apartment :( Despite being named Thumbs, the cat had a normal amount of thumbs and five million not-thumb fingers. Funny guy.
- I started a bullet journal and dual-use scrap/sticker book. They're pretty awesome. If I were to share pictures (of this and anything else I may mention in this post), they'd be access-locked.
- Went to her niece's pre-K graduation, and then to a Mexican restaurant. They didn't have burgers and fries or anything like that, so I was forced to leave my comfort zone and order a chimichanga. I've wanted another ever since.
- By the way, I learned how to make fried rice. I can now cook ❇2❇ things that require more steps than "put in pot of boiling water and wait."
- We checked out an apartment building that was around the corner from where friend currently lives. They were kind of awesome... I could see myself in there... Yupppp.
- I ate a lot.
- We finally went to Seattle at some point. We went to the pop culture museum, then parked somewhere where we were legally required to get Mexican food or get towed (← this is the future liberals want) so I got some churros, went to an alternative clothing shop I've wanted to go to for years now, got more Mexican food from the same place (a licuado de fresa and... chicken nuggets and fries. Look, I really really wanted french fries.), and went home. Seattle seemed really really cool, so I'm eager to go back on my own terms.
- We went to the zoo and Point Defiance Park. More places I'd like to visit again on my own terms.
- I watched 80 episodes of Shippuden. Well, I got to episode 80. I skipped filler, although I kind of want to go back and watch it because the filler characters for that one arc looked cool. (The arc before ROT13 Nfhzn qvrf.)
- I finished my summer Japanese class, so I have nothing to do the rest of the summer.
- That's pretty much it.
