How I Look With He/Him In My Bio

The long-awaited fit post! (🦗🦗🦗) One of my resolutions was to work on my wardrobe, and another was to "become a normal adult... according to my own standards," which means being cool and desirable (among other things). Here are outfits that show my efforts towards that resolution so far ^_^ Right now I'm starting by working on a capsule wardrobe, 1.5 of them because I basically need "female" and "male" wardrobes, and then I'll just buy whatever makes me think "if I don't own this I'll die horribly." Fashionheads of Dreamwidth, please hype me up/tear me down.
The background is the only place in the house with good lighting OTL Sorry if the dog food kills the vibe. I'm surprised the dog herself didn't photobomb me, but maybe she instinctively knew not to get in the way of a good fit.
Outfit 1
Worn to work, like most of the outfits. I don't go anywhere else (YET)! At the time I didn't have the Docs, so I was wearing some very comfy new sneakers. Previously I always wore black platform Vans, but they're lowkey starting to come apart and they are NOT comfortable to stand in for long periods of time. A pretty warm outfit, pretty cozy, pretty witchy. At this point I was just photographing the outfits for record-keeping and didn't consider that maybe I should strike a pose.
Outfit 2
This picture was taken before the previous. Almost everything you see - the top, skirt, and shoes - are from Old Navy. I had to see if the fit looked in real life how it did in my head when I ordered it online. I DID wear this to work once, but I'm not sharing that picture because for some reason I tucked the shirt in that day? Without even thinking about it. I just felt like I Had To. (A Tumblr-induced habit????) And then when I got home and looked at past photos I was like wtf, it looks better without the tuck. Anyways, I wore it to work with the heart choker you see in other pictures and my work lanyard, so it looks less boring. I personally think the fit gives "evil pre-K teacher". Not "evil" as in "I am evil" but "evil" as in "I work at an evil school teaching the children of evil people how to be evil, but I'm a very kind evil teacher ^_^".
Outfit 3
I concocted this fit while bored at home on a weekend lol. Could use more necklaces and bracelets to be honest. But cute! Because I covered my face you can't see I'm wearing foundation now (previously my face was bare, but I figured out makeup halfway through January), and eye makeup that was a really, really bad imitation of this. My eye pencil isn't thin enough to make it exactly, plus I hadn't played in makeup in over a decade. I don't know what I'm doing ^o^!!!
Outfit 4
Not really special, just showing how the same top looks with pants instead of a skirt. I actually don't like how those pants fit and have replacements coming in the mail right now. They're too tight :( Honestly I'm sick of having to get new pants every year. Seriously considering wearing only skirts, dresses, and baggy pants. (And since baggy/cargo pants are hip with zoomers right now, I would like to add that I started the trend kinda and wore bootcuts, straight, or flared pants in middle and high school while everyone else wore skinny pants. Because I like it when I'm not fighting my pants trying to put them on, thanks.) Pretend my work lanyard is on because it was a work fit too. Note the cat ears.
Outfit 5
An outfit that got me a compliment from the manager even though I made it while panicking about not having any clothes left to create a yet-unworn fit. I also felt it was too business casual for such a laid-back store, but I guess it's fine.
Outfit 6
I tried to put my hair in a high ponytail and it kind of hurt, so I might never draw someone with long long hair with an updo ever again. Howeverrrrr it did stop hurting after a while and only hurt when I thought about it, so I guess I just had to get used to it. It looks like I'm wearing a dress, but it's actually a romper! With pockets!! Got asked if I have a boyfriend that day, so I can never wear this fit again /JK. Again, you have to imagine the lanyard because this was a work fit.
Outfit 7
Inventory day fit! Would probably go harder if I didn't have the arms of someone who uses them for nothing but picking up a controller. Insert lanyard here.
Outfit 8
I thought this went hard, but I received no compliments </3 You can't see it in the picture, but I had two belts on! Two!! I dress masc more often than these pictures imply, but I have one (1) pair of men's pants, so I didn't share a lot of pictures because the only thing that changes is my hair and top half, maybe the shoes. That's okay, I have more pants on the way right now. I love half-ponytails. Insert lanyard here.
Outfit 9
I love half-ponytails. But how can we make them better? What if... TWO half-ponytails? Yup, today(!) I tried the Misa Amane, and it worked out even though I thought maybe I would need longer hair. I think I was actually thinking of Ribbon Girl Miku when I did it, but I hallucinated her having two ponytails when she only has one. Anyways, today's outfit was also created while thinking "fuckkkk I'm running out of fits" and I wasn't even going to take a picture of today's because I thought it was boring, but someone asked for my number (please keep in mind mere months ago I barely ever left the house or talked to strangers and definitely didn't wear makeup), so I guess it was good enough!! The censorship hides my smudged eyeliner, which was inspired by this video I saw on Pinterest last night. I love how low effort it is, and it works well with the fact that I can't do eyeliner. Like, at all. My eye twitches and tears up like crazy. But I just did my usual crappy job and then smudged it with my fingers, and voila!
I don't really know what kind of advice I'm seeking, but if you have anything you want to say to someone just starting to look ~cool~ let me know!! I have kind of read a lot of theory (video games about clothes + a long history of being a Tumblrina + some Pinterest use thrown in), but have done little practice (wore a uniform throughout my public school years, didn't want to buy clothes because I rarely went out, chronically uncool, etc.).
