"Lame title is lame" is what I would say if it was 2013.

What I've Done
So actually, towards the end of June I started bullet journaling. Thanks to that and this post, I've gotten better at getting things done. I did have to change the 1-3-5 rules a LOT because of how it takes me so long to do literally anything, but it's nice to get anything done at all rather than do fuck all all day every day like I used to.

I had a list of goals to complete in July, and I only completed one -- finishing a novel. It was an Elric of Melniboné book. And are those even novels? I think they're novellas. As for translating 5 chapters of that thing I'm translating -- I lost interest in it for a while because no one reads it. I'm back at it now though ^^ It's a niche within a niche and I've done barely anything to promote it so of course no one cares, but I don't want to make a big announcement when the fansite it's on still isn't complete yet. If that takes too long, I at least don't want to say anything until I complete a full volume. I know the real payoff will be when I finish it and people who prefer to read completed series hop on, so I have to be patient.

Did you know there was only 6 days in July where I didn't post anything on DW? Now you do. I do make private entries though, so even if you were in every access group of mine there would still be posts you can't see. Anyways, if I combine my DW entries with my bullet journal, I can remember everything I did managed to accomplish last month. I...

  • finished Kiniro no Corda, but I did badly and need to replay it.

  • participated in [community profile] sunshine_revival.

  • finished learning all the words necessary for the JLPT N2 (I did all the grammar months ago).

  • uploaded.... only one chapter of that scanlation!?!? I thought for sure I did two.

  • BUT I did translate some postcards for someone else, which I should put on my personal site at some point. Postcards like, letters from fictional characters, you know?

  • (running out of things to say) I drove a lot? I'm no longer TERRIFIED of the road. However, I also--

  • --hit a pothole and bust a tire, so now I flinch violently at every bump in the road. The way the human mind works is so beautiful, I think.

  • fixed my sleep schedule and immediately fucked it up again.

  • actually wrote some short fiction including my first fanfic since middle school, but I haven't shared it online... None of it is good, but I'm working on that.

That's it. I hope I can get things done that I can show off in August, but because of school I doubt it. Which is fine-- graduating is a noble goal too.

What I'm Doing
Just as my pinned says, I'm playing Order of Ecclesia (which ain't no joke, oh my God), watching Naruto Shippuden and Panty & Stocking, etc etc... I'm continuing work on this scanlation and will continue to do so for a long while. I'm kind of getting comfortable with drawing again via pencil and paper, but I need to get over my fear of the iPad too. I'm also making time to write more, but I'm not sure if I'll ever share my writings to be honest. I like comics more, so if I write anything good I'll probably rewrite it as a comic script and then draw that.

What I Will Do
It seems bullet journaling is good for one-and-done tasks, but things that I have to work on over a period of time to complete? I need to change how I handle those things. I also made my list of goals shorter this month. I thought my expectations for what I can do are more realistic now, but I'm also worried it can only be accomplished if I remain a NEET. School starts again this month, so.... Uh........... ;;;;

But, you know, I'm going to be bold this month and actually publicly state what my August goals are:

  • Write a story to completion. It can be pure writing, a script, a game, and even just one page long. But it needs to happen.

  • Translate 4 chapters of that thing.

  • Finish another English-language novel. It's looking like that'll be The Weird of the White Wolf by Michael Moorcock.

  • Get an art bingo. I made my own bingo card with the things I like and types of art to try (illusts, comics, F2U stuff, etc).

  • Do all my homework. This is something I haven't done since 5th grade.

  • Beat Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia.

I'm kind of eyeing that Shoujosei Jam (I wonder why it's not called the Joseimuke Jam?), but I've never made a game and I don't know how I should start. I might not even be the one programming it, but I don't want to ask too much of my friend either, so I want to make sure even I could make a prototype before asking her to do the rest. Just know that I don't want it to be a VN, or just a VN with no other gameplay... because that's what O2A2 or Otome Jam is for.
